Researchers at Macquarie University are conducting a clinical trial to investigate how helpful is the Endometriosis Pain Course, a new online psychological pain management program. This program is designed to help people affected by endometriosis to manage their emotional well-being and day-to-day activities.

This study aims to examine the helpfulness and acceptability of The Endometriosis Pain Course, an internet-delivered psychological pain management program for people with endometriosis. We developed this program to help manage the impacts of endometriosis-related pain on emotional well-being and quality of life, as we know that chronic pain is one of the most troublesome symptoms of endometriosis.

What does the research involve?

Participation in this study involves completing 5 online lessons over 8 weeks and completing some simple homework tasks (eg practicing skills from the lessons) to assist with remembering the material. Each lesson provides important information about techniques for managing pain and emotional well-being, with illustrated examples of how people learn these techniques. Each lesson takes about 30 minutes to complete. Participants will also have the option of working with a Clinical Psychologist alongside the online program.

Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires at 4 time points during the study. Each questionnaire will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.  Participants will have access to the Endometriosis Pain Course for approximately 6 months if they continue to take part in the research.
