Music has been found to help people better manage chronic pain conditions. Researchers from Macquarie University, led by Prof. Kerry Sherman, are exploring if music may have similar benefits for people with endometriosis. This study investigates whether a daily music program can help ease some symptoms for people with endometriosis.

Who can participate?

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Have a diagnosis of endometriosis,
  • Are 18 years of age and above,
  • Proficient in English,
  • Have access to an online music streaming service, and
  • Live in Australia.

What does the research involve?

Participants will be assigned to one of the three groups, comprising of two music groups and a comparison group. The music groups will engage in daily music listening for 28 days. All groups will be asked to complete a pre-study survey (30 minutes), brief daily surveys (2-5 minutes), and a post-study survey (30 minutes). This study has received ethics approval from the Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee (#520251898162646).
